Overview

The Service Cashier/Business Development Center (BDC) Representative answers incoming telephone calls and greets visitors in a friendly, interested, and helpful manner. He or she receives, processes, and coordinates all incoming service requests, and internet queries.courteously and efficiently manages all service and repair transactions for our valued customers. He or she receives and processes payments for services rendered or parts and materials purchased,In addition, he or she performs clerical and administrative duties for the Service departments.

 

Compensation: $15.00 an hour plus bonuses!

The ideal candidate has some post-secondary education or training, previous experience in a similar position (administrative, clerical, call center, customer service, etc.), previous retail and/or customer service experience that includes money-handling and point-of-sale (POS) system experience. a working knowledge of automotive sales/service. He or she must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong administrative and organizational skills, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up with prospective customers in response to their email on our website.
  • Accepts responsibility and accountability for his or her money drawer.
  • Reconcile repair order which includes calculating the material (or shop supplies) charges applicable for each repair order, accurately calculate the total retail price for parts, fluids, material, or shop supplies, labor and taxes.
  • Collect the total retail charges from the customer in cash, check or authorized charge account.
  • Provide the customer with the proper change and/or receipts.
  • Properly documents charges purchases according to the company's policy.
  • Calculate and enter the warranty charges applicable.
  • Accumulate all repair orders and parts invoices closed during the business day to the business office daily.
  • Coordinates questions and issues with the appropriate department personnel.
  • Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed,
  • Receive all inbound service calls and coordinate schedules of service advisors and service appointments.
  • Maintain an owner follow up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Continually learn about product updates, features, accessories, inventory and their benefits to the customer.
  • Provide service  management information by completion reports.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Support on-line customers by setting appointments.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience required (sales experience preferred).
  • 3-6 months of previous professional experience with over-the-phone customer service or sales (Inside Sales, Telemarketing, etc) a PLUS!
  • Service or hospitality industries experience a PLUS!
  • Previous retail and/or customer service experience.
  • Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills.
  • Strong math skills and the ability to handle financial transactions rapidly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive servicing or repair highly desired.
  • Excellent telephone, writing and typing skills.
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Automotive experience a PLUS!
  • Must be engaging, inquisitive, curious with a over-aggressive/always willing to help attitude.
  • Internet Sales experience a PLUS!
  • Must have drive, passion and confidence to be successful.
  • A desire and ability to work in a performance and process driven environment.
